Hi, I'm Derren Vella, a professional real estate, interior, and architectural photographer based in Malta and Gozo.

My journey into photography began in 2009 when I purchased my first DSLR camera, a Canon 500D. What started as a hobby quickly developed into a lifelong passion. I was drawn to the beauty of Malta's landscapes and coastlines, spending countless hours exploring the islands and refining my skills through landscape and night photography. Those early experiences taught me the importance of light, composition, timing, attention to detail  and principles that continue to define my work today.

Before specialising in photography, I worked in the property rental sector as a real estate letting agent. Through daily interaction with property owners, buyers, tenants, and investors, I gained valuable insight into the real estate industry and the importance of first impressions when marketing a property.

Combining my background in real estate with my passion for photography was a natural progression. Today, I provide professional real estate, interior, and architectural photography services throughout Malta and Gozo, helping estate agents, developers, homeowners, holiday rental owners, and interior designers showcase their properties through high-quality imagery that attracts attention and generates interest.

Over the years, my photographs have been featured in books, calendars, stamps, television productions, and various publications. I have also enjoyed sharing my knowledge through photography workshops specialising in landscape and astrophotography.

Although my primary focus is now property photography, my passion for landscape photography remains as strong as ever. I continue to explore and capture the natural beauty of Malta and Gozo, always searching for that special moment, unique light, and perfect composition that first inspired me to pick up a camera all those years ago.
